The FIS World Championships 2027 in the Montafon
The FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships 2027 will take place in the Montafon and are being organised by the Austrian Ski Federation (OSV) together with Ski Club Montafon, the valley's municipalities, the Province of Vorarlberg, Montafon Tourismus and the Montafon cable car companies. As the largest winter sports event ever held in Vorarlberg, the championships send a powerful signal for winter sports, the region and especially the younger generation.
The Entire Valley United by Winter Sports
A distinctive feature of the event is the broad involvement of the entire valley: all municipalities in the Montafon are participating, and the competition venues will be spread across the whole valley. The World Championships are therefore regarded as a milestone for both sport and tourism in the region.
The Disciplines
The programme features numerous disciplines in snowboard, freestyle and freeski, including halfpipe, slopestyle, big air, snowboard cross, ski cross, aerials, moguls as well as various mixed team events.
